Merry Christmas!
Good day to everyone, and have a very Merry Christmas!
Today the final part of the 2013 digital advent calendar was released, and Cypher has returned to the battle fields.
The data slate can be found here:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=22200010a
My first impressions of it are that it is a great representation of the Fallen Lord (and his followers). The data slate has around 30 pages of fluff (on iPad mini) and then rules for Cypher and a formation of Fallen Angels. At the end there is the customary Alter of War missions.
Cypher himself is a potent HQ choice, the only sad thing being he cannot be your warlord and only HQ option. He can be taken in all Imperial armies (except Dark Angels) and Chaos Marines as a HQ choice that does not take up a slot.. I'm not going to post equipment specifics, but his rules and weaponry aptly represent him. And he has eternal warrior which is quite handy, and his pistols are very nice.
The formation consists of Cypher and 1-3 chaos chosen squads, without the chaosy items. A nice representation of a Fallen Angel warband, with some decent special rules, such as ATSKNF (!)
Anyway, that's all for now. I'll check in in a few days, with a review of my impressions of the new iPad mini as a reading device.

The Zombie Apocalypse
As some of you have read in recent posts, Crazy424 likes his meta-lists. The most recent of these takes the form of a couple of HQ choices and lots of Zombies with some Chaos Spawn thrown in for good measure. I'm always up for disproving meta-lists so we arranged a 1500pt, three player 'Battle Royale', Ruby playing his beloved Space Marines, Crazy424 playing a version of the Zombie list (with 100+ Zombies) and me playing mostly Orks (with a Wraithknight thrown in just because Ruby hates it).

Vanguard Veterans Squad. Worth it?
New Space Marines Codex was released, and there are heaps and heaps of options. As soon as they came out, I couldn't help myself to get the new Centurions, Sternguards and Vanguard Veterans as I thought the models were pretty awesome (yeah, even Centurions, afters seeing them in GW, I realized they were cooler than what I thought).

Battle Report - Space Marines vs Eldar - 3000pts
Here at 40 Warzone, we weren't entirely happy with the way the Battle Report played out in the latest White Dwarf with the Space Marines losing to Chaos (you need to use different armies WD guys). So, we decided to play our own with the two latest armies, Space Marines and Eldar.

The "graviton hammer" list.
Been thinking about how to make some more hardcore lists. After some discussion amongst the council, I came up with this for 1850:

What was my surprise when checking my email, I saw a newsletter from GW and the word FREE on the same email! Couldn't believe it!

Space Marine Centurions: Overdrive.
Let's get the ball rolling on this one. The forum debates have been going crazy about the consensus of the new heavy hitters.....Centurions. I want to talk pre-release tactics. Knee-jerk reactions. Stupidly insane combos that could work with these boys without having seen the codex. Let's throw all objectivity out the window and roll with rumour hammer!

Rumour Watch: More Space Marine Rules!!
More coming in about the upcoming Codex. Again, can't wait to see them be released. It's going to be sweet!
Also, just a quick piece on reliability. "The book I have looks like the final. If this is a fake then a ton of effort has gone into this." Take it as you will, if it's all fake then more fool us.
This is very much more of an FAQ than a complete rules dump. However, there is some new stuff in here:

Space Hulk: Game Review
So as some of you may know (read: everyone) Thursday of last week saw the release of Danish developer Full Control ApS’s Space Hulk. This has unsurprisingly caused quite a stir in the community, and was something we here at 40k Warzone couldn’t ignore. So after a weekend of trying to keep the honour of the Blood Angels alive I’m here now to give you the ins and outs of this revision of the 1989 GW classic board game.
