The Wraithknight in 7th edition.

The big boy is back with style! (Note the INSANE paint job of the image, which can be found here). Anyway, moving on. I used Wraithknights in 6th edition as fast moving heavy hitters that could hold up enemy scoring units - leaving my own to roam free. However, now with the advent of 7th edition making everything scoring, this guy is even better!

The Zombie Apocalypse

As some of you have read in recent posts, Crazy424 likes his meta-lists. The most recent of these takes the form of a couple of HQ choices and lots of Zombies with some Chaos Spawn thrown in for good measure. I'm always up for disproving meta-lists so we arranged a 1500pt, three player 'Battle Royale', Ruby playing his beloved Space Marines, Crazy424 playing a version of the Zombie list (with 100+ Zombies) and me playing mostly Orks (with a Wraithknight thrown in just because Ruby hates it).

Painting: White Wraithblades

I have finally completed my first Wraithblade using an alternate white colour scheme. Most people hate painting white - I've often received comments about getting good coverage. I'll fill you in on the technique I use to get a good finish.

Winning with (Non Serpent) Eldar.

No one can really deny that Eldar are dominating the world's table tops right now. Whether or not you play competitively or socially, it is likely, at some stage or another, that you have faced the mighty Wave Serpent! In fact, there are so many 4-6 Wave Serpent spam armies littering the table tops that it can sometimes drive you to the point of insanity. However, some info dropped on BOLS about the latest 40k tournament stats and it got me thinking about the "meta" (a term I hate....quite openly). Can you run a non-Serpent spam list and win?

Wraithknights and Cover: Common Mistakes.

Two things I want to cover in this post. Firstly, some cover save misconceptions that I have commonly run into while using my Knights, and secondly, some addition misconceptions about how to work out cover saves from Knight shooting.

How many Wraithknights is enough Wraithknights?

If you have played my Eldar list then you will know I am a huge fan of running triple Wraithknights. Yet, I am constantly told that "three is far too many" or "waste of points mate." Is it? I don't believe so, here is why:

Six Pyschopaths

This is the nickname for one of the units I almost always use in my main Eldar army. It is comprised of the following:

Battle Report - Space Marines vs Eldar - 3000pts

Here at 40 Warzone, we weren't entirely happy with the way the Battle Report played out in the latest White Dwarf with the Space Marines losing to Chaos (you need to use different armies WD guys). So, we decided to play our own with the two latest armies, Space Marines and Eldar.

The "graviton hammer" list.

Been thinking about how to make some more hardcore lists. After some discussion amongst the council, I came up with this for 1850:

The Eldar Hornet.

The state of Imperial Armour at the moment is somewhat confusing. A handful of tournaments in my area allow the rules to be used but, overall, it isn't as widespread as many would like. We had some very interesting comments recently depicting that all FW units should be taken into considering when deciding on what to use in an army. While this may be true in some other countries, I don't believe it to be so in our local circle. However, I wish it was because Corsairs are pretty awesome!

Bring out the Hornet!

Sunday Painting - Eldar flyers

As part of my recent Eldar update, I purchased two of the Eldar flyer boxes - these became one Hemlock Wraithfighter and one Crimson Hunter. I have already used them both in battles but I really prefer to play games where all my models are painted.

Eldar Corsairs: The new rules for Warp Hunter and Hornet!

Just seen the new Apoc book from Forge World. I was only really interested in the changes to the Eldar units. Mixed bag in my opinion. Let's have a look:

Wraith Knight in action

Finally, I have had the chance to use the Wraith Knight as it is intended - as a tank killing MACHINE.

Tactica: Eldar Vyper

Vypers are pretty cool. With War Walkers costing almost the same as a Vyper, many Eldar players have a split view on whether or not they are viable for play. They got a lot of slack in the old book due to their relatively underwhelming offensive power and paper thin armour. What's changed? Not much, but, they're still worth consideration
