Battle Report: Ogres vs High Elves 1200pts

So as promised here is my first Fantasy Battle Report using my first army; Ogre Kingdoms! I've been really looking forward to having a game of fantasy and luckily the individual who sold me these Ogres also agreed to give me a game and show me the ropes.

Upcoming battle report - Orks vs Nids

As our regular readers may know, Ruby and I are big fans of testing out the latest stuff released from GW. While we may not be the quickest on the uptake, we like to think that we're more balanced in our approach.

To this end, we have scheduled a 2k point battle: Orks vs new Nids.

"But there are no new Orks, that's not fair on you, and the new Nids are so OP!" I hear you cry but fear not, while Ruby will be taking the bulk of his new Tyranid force (assuming he builds them in time), I will be fielding an Ork Stompa to even the field.

The Zombie Apocalypse

As some of you have read in recent posts, Crazy424 likes his meta-lists. The most recent of these takes the form of a couple of HQ choices and lots of Zombies with some Chaos Spawn thrown in for good measure. I'm always up for disproving meta-lists so we arranged a 1500pt, three player 'Battle Royale', Ruby playing his beloved Space Marines, Crazy424 playing a version of the Zombie list (with 100+ Zombies) and me playing mostly Orks (with a Wraithknight thrown in just because Ruby hates it).

Battle Report - Space Marines vs Eldar - 3000pts

Here at 40 Warzone, we weren't entirely happy with the way the Battle Report played out in the latest White Dwarf with the Space Marines losing to Chaos (you need to use different armies WD guys). So, we decided to play our own with the two latest armies, Space Marines and Eldar.

Siceralc - Over the last few weeks most of us have been playing the meta pretty hard, and we've decided to give it a break and indulge our desire for fluff. What follows is the first of several scenarios we plan on playing over the next few months, and we hope to develop the games as we go along. Battle Report: Chaos Demons vs Orks

This week, Ruby and I decided that we'd play a small 1000pt game with our secondary armies - Ruby's Chaos Demons vs my Orks. As the game approached and we were both busy reading our codexes, we started to come up with new units that we wanted to try but didn't have the models for. In the end, we're both pretty easy-going gamers so we decided to allow proxying and came up with 1500pt army lists:

That picture defines perfectly the thoughts of everyone around the table during this game. It was a great game, epic I would say, full of randomness, crazy moves, lots of luck (good and bad), insane rolls but especially, fun. 

Battle Report - Tau and Eldar vs Orks

We know you love hearing about how Ruben and I mess up the rules and have the tactical IQ of lemmings but it's time for this week's battle report - Ruben's Tau and Chris's Eldar vs Chris's Orks.

Battle Report: Eldar vs Space Marines & Tau Empire

A long time has passed since Chris and I had our last game. It was a really good game of Chaos Daemons & Dark Eldar vs Eldar & Orks that I won with an amazing game of Skarbrand wiping out all the Orks in Chris' army. He went on holidays to his homeland for a month and I bought and moved to a new place and had surgery in my mouth, getting all my wisdom teeth removed. 

During that time, Eldar, Chris' main army, came out. As he was in UK, he basically bought everything that came out, including Illic, Wraith Knight, 2 flyers... while I started my Tau Empire army with a unit of Fire Warriors. So our first game after he came, was of course Eldar vs Tau, allied with Space Marines, as I don't have many points yet.

This Thursday will be my first battle with the new Eldar rules and models and I'm facing Ruben's Space Marine and Tau allies.

Battle Report - Eldar vs Space Marines 1600pts

Another Thursday, another grand battle between Ruben and Chris. And another really long Battle Report...

We had initially decided that we would play 1500pts and that Ruben would have a change and play his Space Marines. There were a few new units/tactics he wanted to try out which left him short on points so we increased to 1600pts - this was fine for me as I wanted to include some more expensive units too.

Battle report: Eldars vs Chaos Daemons & Dark Eldars

After so long planning it, talking about it and thinking when could we possibly do it, we finally played our first 2000 points game, mixing Eldars, Dark Eldars and Chaos Daemons in the same game. In my opinion, one of our best games so far, even though that we could only play 4 turns because the shop was closing a little bit earlier today.
