Phoenix Guard finally on their way for paint

It has taken me an unforgivable amount of time in getting these guys glued......12 months!! As you can see, I had a good go at the paint scheme on the command group, and they came out alright. However, in the light of a recent trade (for my old Dwarf army), Plebicidal is painting them up for me!

You can see some of his great work here:

No pressure mate!

My work with Vallejo Liquid Gold.

Well my “quick” review didn’t really cover much in the way of actual progress, or how I used it. So here is the longer one.

Vallejo Liquid Gold Quick Review.

I just picked up Vallejo Liquid Gold, Silver and White Gold. The paints themselves look great. The White Gold was very very thick, but I’m sure this can be fixed (hopefully).

TITAN MINIATURES AND OZ40K TAU GIVEAWAY!!!

So the guys over at Titan Miniatures and OZ40k (an Independent GW Retailer) are doing an awesome painting commission giveaway which I think you should all check out. The head painter over at Titan Miniatures (and personal friend of CrAzY424 and I) has been doing some absolutely PHENOMENAL work and I know our regulars would definitely be impressed.

My projects for February.

Well I'm back from Germany. It was a great trip, even though it was freezing cold. Anyway, coming back has brought me to the realisation of just how much stuff I have on my Hobby Plate for the next few months. Here is my rundown:

2014 hobby resolutions

December is always a busy month for me so I don't get much of a chance to do any of my hobby (or blog). When Christmas rolled around, I finally got the opportunity to relax and sit down with a paintbrush and some models overdue for some colour. This got me thinking about my hobby resolutions for the New Year:

Deadlines

The words we all hate

Recently, the pile of unpainted plastic I have has been growing at an alarming rate. Normally my painting space is orderly, but at the moment it is just a mess of grey. So this got me thinking qbout deadlines.

40K Warzone Hobbyist last week!

Just 6 days to go guys. Remember to submit your entries before it's too late. So far, the entries received look amazing. Also, remind you guys that if you participate in the competition, there are two non written rules that every contestant should follow:
- Make sure that you vote
- Don't vote for yourself (I shouldn't even say that...)
- We won't count Anonymous votes anymore, so make sure you use your account or alias

PS: I don't know where did I see this Wave Serpent, but how amazing does it look?!!

TSOM: Spacehulk Painted to Perfection!

Wow, just wow. TSOM boys have done it again! Incredible paint job on everyone's favourite: Space Hulk!

Armies on Parade Ideas.

A few of us are thinking of entering it for 2014. We are going to bounce some ideas of you guys:

TommyH: Aftermath of a battle. Apothecary detachment arrives, with escort, to retrieve geneseed.

Spicerack: Catachan Jungle scene off the front of the old codex cover.

CrAzY: Either an Eldar strike force emerging from the Warp or a DKK unit about to charge out of a trench WW1 style.

Ruby: Space Marines holding their position against a Tyranid Swarm

Thoughts?

Painting: White Wraithblades

I have finally completed my first Wraithblade using an alternate white colour scheme. Most people hate painting white - I've often received comments about getting good coverage. I'll fill you in on the technique I use to get a good finish.
