The Hobbit: need a new combat character.

WOW, time warp to the extreme. It’s been over two weeks since I last got a post up! Anyway, back in action. Let’s talk The Hobbit.

The Hobbit team tournament this weekend!

This weekend the boys and I are teaming up at Sydney's first Team The Hobbit tournament. Here is the breakdown:

The Hobbit: My list for next week.

Alright, so it's been a few months since we have had some Hobbit action! Well, for once we are the ones attending, rather than hosting a LOTR tournament. It's four games with an escalating format. You start out with 300 points, and increase in 450 point increments. Here is my base list:

Warzone LOTR #3 approaching fast!

Warzone LOTR #3 is on this Saturday! The time since the last LOTR tournament has flown past, and I look forward to getting into a few fun games for it. Last time we had 24 players hack it out in one of the nation's biggest events (until our brothers down in Victoria came along with 30+!!!). The Hobbit is a great game, and it can be a refreshing alternative to 40k or Fantasy. Anyway, if you are Australian, live in Sydney and are free on Saturday, then head on down to GW Sydney to play or watch!

N.S.W. 40k Warzone Open #3!

Over the past few months it's been absolutely incredible to watch the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit scene return in N.S.W. and Victoria. Being a part of such a dedicated community (and being able to host events regularly for that community) is just awesome.

People DO play The Hobbit and LOTR, you just have to find them.

Been reading quite a bit about the scarcity of LOTR players in, and around, Games Workshop. I used to be one of those guys that would complain about The Hobbit taking up a release slot. I do agree that it is a seriously rare occasion to see games of LOTR being played at the local gaming stores, and it almost seems like, in comparison to 40k, no one collects it. However, I've discovered a lot of people do. 

The Hobbit: High Defence is a must.

We have being going a bit LOTR crazy over here. TommyH, Spicerack and I have been playing The Hobbit the past two months without stop. It's a great system. However, today I want to talk about why High Defence values are a must, especially for evil armies.

N.S.W Warzone Open - LOTR Tournament in Sydney

We are running a tournament for The Hobbit in January. For all Australians who play the game, this will be an awesome event!

The Hobbit: GW releases a FREE PDF!!

Could hardly believe it until I saw it myself. All the rules for the units out of The Hobbit rulebook have been released as a free PDF for everyone to use. Good news for the LOTR community!
