N.S.W. 40k Warzone Open #3!

Over the past few months it's been absolutely incredible to watch the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit scene return in N.S.W. and Victoria. Being a part of such a dedicated community (and being able to host events regularly for that community) is just awesome.

New Project: Ogre Kingdoms

Recently I obtained my first batch of Ogres! I'm really excited to get into fantasy and this will mark my first Warhammer Fantasy Force.

Picking up Fantasy

Well... The other boys have finally done it. After some hard convincing and a game with Spicerack (I got completely obliterated...) I've finally been convinced to pick up some fantasy.

40K WarZone Hobbyist: entry #1

The time has come. 1st of October, first entry for our competition.

Topic
Random
You can paint whatever you guys want for the first entry in the competition, but just a miniature (not a whole unit). You can paint an infantry model, vehicle, monstrous creature...whatever you want! Nothing like giving a little bit of freedom to start with. Next entries will be more specific, but for this time, we want to encourage people to be part of this community.

Instructions
All the entries have to be send to:
40kwarzone@gmail.com
You have to send the email with the next details:
Name of contestant:
Model: (here you have to specify what kind of model it is and "name" it if you want with a nickname or name)
Details: (optional. You can explain how did you paint it, some of the colours used, army that they belong to...)
Pictures: It would be required to send, at least, 2 pictures. 1 with the model assembled before being painted, and another one with the model already painted. If you want to send more than one picture of the model painted (back, front, details...) it is encouraged. I will manage the pictures to put them all
together as one.

All the entries must be submitted before the 31st of October.

All the entries will be published ASAP after that date so you can guys can vote for your favorites.

Don't hesitate to ask any further questions about it and we will help you about them.

40K WarZone Hobbyist

Here at 40k WarZone we don't claim to be artists or anything like that (3 Colours might be one.....some day) but, as much as we love playing, we also like painting our miniatures. That's why we decided to do a kind of competition with you guys, so we can also show your work and not just ours.

Every month starting the 1st of October, we will set up a month-long painting competition. As we are a blog specialized in GW models, it would be preferable for entries to come from one of the three systems, but other games models are welcome too for display.

After that post, you will have until the end of the month to paint a miniature and send us a picture to 40kwarzone@gmail.com.

Honesty is something that we would appreciate, as there are no cash prizes or anything like that. To try to keep it like that, we will require a picture of the model assembled and undercoated if you want, and another one with the model already painted and finished. That way we would know that you painted it recently (if someone wants to cheat, something like that is not gonna stop him/her, but once again, try to be honest guys).

Once the time is finished we will create a post with all the entries that we receive, and YOU GUYS will be the ones to decide which ones are the best through your votes.

After 7 days, votes will be close and we will announce the winners, giving points to all the participants according to their position. Finally, the winner will move into the hall of fame page so that their effort may never be forgotten.

Any ideas to improve it guys? As usual, all the ideas are welcome!
